Super Mario Kart

About Super Mario Kart

The first Mario Kart created the kart racing genre, mixing racing with item based combat using shells and banana peels. It used the Mode 7 graphics mode of the Super Nintendo to create pseudo 3D tracks. Battle Mode pitted two players against each other in arenas. It spawned one of the best selling series in gaming, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe later became the top selling Switch game.
